The data controller for your personal data is Tazkiya International. We are committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

We collect and process the following personal data when you use Hive Learning:

  • Name and email address -- required to create your account and communicate with you
  • WhatsApp number -- optional; used to send course notifications if you opt in
  • Course progress and activity -- lessons viewed, quizzes completed, attendance records, and certificates issued
  • Technical data -- IP address, browser type, and session logs for security and platform stability

3. How We Use Your Data

Your personal data is used solely for delivering education services through the Hive Learning platform, including:

  • Creating and managing your student account
  • Tracking your progress and issuing certificates of completion
  • Sending course-related communications (email and WhatsApp, where applicable)
  • Providing support and responding to your enquiries
  • Improving the platform through aggregate, anonymised analytics

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance -- processing necessary to provide the educational services you have enrolled in
  • Consent -- for optional communications such as WhatsApp notifications
  • Legitimate interests -- for platform security and fraud prevention

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide services. Course records and certificates may be retained for up to 7 years after course completion for verification purposes. You may request deletion at any time (see Your Rights below).

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your personal data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to our processing of your data
  • Data portability (receive your data in a machine-readable format)
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing)
